about us
We are a growing independent roastery based in St Peters, Sydney. Grace & Taylor has a strong family connection (it’s named after the middle names of Matt's two children - India Grace and Will Taylor), and we pride ourselves on growing and maintaining that connection with all of our customers, both wholesale and retail.
Our focus has always been on roasting and sharing coffee that is enjoyed by everyone (both yourselves and your customers) while ensuring we maintain our best possible roasting principles and sourcing ethics.
As part of our roasting process, we monitor and cup all of our roasts to ensure we are achieving the best tasting coffee possible, as well as maintaining consistency across all of our blends and single origin coffees. We constantly research and test our roasting profiles and methods, and take pride in having both been finalists in the Australian Roasting Championships - with Keith placing 3rd nationally in 2019.
We are just as passionate about the green coffee we purchase, placing great importance on not only the quality of the coffee but also ensuring that the coffee we purchase is fully traceable as well as paying coffee producers above market rates as a reward for their efforts. Often farmers are unable to cover the costs of selling their crops on the local market, creating a cycle of debt and further disadvantage for already poor communities. Our goal is to help these communities to break this cycle and develop stable markets through the demand for higher quality specialty coffee.
We have aligned ourselves to work with a limited number of green coffee suppliers who share this purpose, most notably Raw Material Coffee - a not for profit green sourcing organisation. In fact, we like what they do so much that we have joined forces with Raw Material to launch their Australian based operation allowing us to have an even greater impact upon our coffee supply chain.
We’d love for you to join us on our journey.
