Ethiopia Dari Kojuwa - Filter Roast
As you may be aware, the Ethiopian coffee industry has long had a complex export process, making it difficult for green coffee buyers and roasters to trace coffees from Ethiopia back to the particular farms from which they originated.
More recently, Ethiopian small holder coffee famers have been encouraged to participate in direct coffee trade and thereby export their micro lots directly under their export licenses. However, this process is expensive and laborious and therefore often infeasible for small scale producers. For this reason, G Broad Trading PLC (in collaboration with Counter Culture) have started working with small holder coffee farmers (as well as private washing stations, private coffee exporters and coffee estates) to assist the exportation process by providing access to quality control, marketing, warehousing, export milling, logistics and export documentation education. Melkalati, the privately owned coffee exporter of coffees from the Dari Kojuwa village, is one of several exporters currently working the G Broad toward a sustainable future.
